Brew Day?

So, when is it going to be, fellas? We also need to rack the two batches we have in the carboys right now...

We could just bottle age the porter, but we do NOT have enough bottles at the moment. That Saison needs to come off the trub for a bit, I think.

  4. so...what do we need another bucket for? how many bottles short are we? i've got a 1/2 dozen plus. we could bottle as much of the porter as well can and move the remainder to the large bucket. it's not going to ferment any more, so we don't need something smaller. hold onto that until we have enough bottles.

rack the saison into the other large carboy we've just cleaned from the porter. there's no rule saying we have to go from glass to plastic.

that leaves our bottling bucket free and the small carboy ready for the rye batch, which is a 3 Gal recipe, right? Am I missing something?

  5. I don't think partial bottling is a good idea, really. The less mucking with the beer, the better.

We could rack it to the glass carboy that we rack the Saison out of, I guess. That could work. Lots of cleaning, but we have to clean it out, anyway.

  6. yeah, that could work too. i just think we can work around the expense of having to get more equipment.

  7. Bucket costs 11 bucks. Airlock is 2 bucks. It's not a huge expenditure, really.
